Answers to the most common questions about Zetlis, plus fixes for a few known problems.
Can't find it? Email [email protected]
Your account, your first listing, and where things are saved.
No. Sign up with an email and password or with Google and you get 10 free analyses — no card required.
You do not need an eBay account to create, edit, save or download listings. You only need to connect one when you want to publish a listing to eBay (and for the Sold tab).
On the dashboard, upload photos of one product — Upload Images, drag and drop, or Take Photos on a phone. Choose the item's condition, then click Analyze; the button tells you it will use 1 analysis.
Zetlis reads your photos and produces three title options, a description, keywords, an eBay category match and Item Specifics. Review and edit anything you like, add a price and quantity, then download the listing or publish it to eBay.
Every successful analysis is saved to History automatically, so nothing is lost if you leave the page.

The dashboard is a temporary workspace: it is not restored after a reload or when you close the tab.
Every analysis is saved to History as a Draft the moment it completes. Open History to find it, keep editing it there, and publish it from there.
Yes — Zetlis is a web app and works in your phone's browser. On a phone you take photos with the camera or pick them from your library, and you reorder photos by tapping one and then tapping where it should go.
The folder upload used for Bulk needs a desktop or tablet-width screen.
What the AI reads, what it writes, and what you should always check.
JPEG, PNG and WebP, up to 10 MB per file. GIF, AVIF and BMP files are converted to JPEG automatically. HEIC/HEIF files are not accepted and show "Unsupported file type" — save or convert them as JPEG first.
Photos are compressed in your browser before upload, so a normal photo rarely comes anywhere near the 10 MB limit.
A listing can carry up to 24 photos (12 for a listing with variations). Zetlis stops you going over before anything is sent to eBay.
The first ticked photo is the main (gallery) photo on eBay. Drag photos to reorder them on a desktop; on a phone, tap a photo and then tap where you want it.
Un-ticking a photo leaves it out of the listing without deleting it, so you can tick it again later.
The AI reads the first 4 photos, in the order shown at the moment you click Analyze — so reorder before analyzing if you want a particular photo (for example the one showing the brand label) among those four. All your photos are kept and published regardless.
Zetlis may un-tick a photo it judges not to show the product. That is reversible: just tick it again.
Yes, always. The AI generates titles, a description, keywords, a category suggestion and Item Specifics from your photos, and it can make mistakes — a wrong size, brand, material or category. Review every field, especially the category, condition and Item Specifics, before you publish.
Zetlis never suggests a price. The price is always yours to enter.
Zetlis proposes three titles, each within eBay's 80-character limit, with a live counter. Pick one, edit it freely, or clear it and write your own.
Keyword chips help you build the title and description. Clicking a chip that would push the title past 80 characters shows a warning instead of adding it. Keywords are not sent to eBay as a separate field.
"Keywords to always include" in your Seller Profile are suggestions the AI weighs against relevance to the product — not words forced into every listing.
Item Specifics are eBay's structured fields for the chosen category — brand, colour, material and so on. Zetlis fills what it can read from your photos and shows the fields eBay requires first, tinted red while they are empty.
Size and Country of Origin are deliberately left for you. Sizes are chosen under Sizes & Colors, not in the Item Specifics list — the size you pick there is what gets published, even if a Size row in Item Specifics still looks empty. Country of Origin is picked in Item Specifics.
Click the category on the listing card (or in History) and use "Search eBay categories". eBay's own suggestions appear and you confirm the one you want. In History a category change is saved immediately.
Changing the category refreshes which fields eBay requires, but it does not clear Item Specifics you already filled in for the previous category — check the list and remove anything that no longer applies before publishing.
The "Product Category" dropdown under Sizes & Colors is a different thing: it only changes which size list you see.
The listing language and currency follow the eBay marketplace set in your active Seller Profile — not the language of the Zetlis interface and not your location. A German interface publishing to eBay US produces an English, USD listing, and the other way round.
To change it, set the right marketplace in your Seller Profile and analyze the product again. Prices are never converted between currencies.
What a profile controls, what eBay needs, and how the connection works.
A Seller Profile holds the settings Zetlis uses for every new analysis: your own brand name, niche, writing tone, keywords to include, words to avoid, a footer added to every description, the eBay marketplace (which sets the listing language and currency), where your items ship from (country and postal code — this becomes the eBay item location), a default size list and default package details.
Profiles are saved to your account and follow you across devices. You can keep several and switch between them.
Changing a profile affects future analyses only — listings already created keep the values they were made with. The profile does not hold your SKU, price, quantity, photos or eBay policies.
The item location comes from the "Ships from" country and postal code in your Seller Profile. On the dashboard, click Edit Profile, scroll to "eBay Marketplace & Shipping Origin", correct the country and postal code, and save.
Listings already on eBay keep the location they were published with until you republish them: open the listing in History and click Update on eBay, or publish a new one.
An active, verified eBay seller account with Managed Payments set up, plus at least one Shipping policy and one Return policy under Seller Hub → Account → Business Policies. No eBay Store subscription is needed.
If you have no shipping policy at all, Zetlis can create a basic one for you. It never creates payment or return policies — those are yours to set up on eBay.

In the dashboard sidebar, click "Add your first eBay account" (or Connect eBay). You will see a short note on what Zetlis accesses, then eBay's own authorization page. Approve it and you are back in Zetlis.
From then on Zetlis publishes with the authorization it stored — you do not need to be logged in to eBay's website when you click Publish or Update on eBay. Being logged in to the right eBay account in your browser only matters at the moment you click Connect or Reconnect.
Zetlis keeps one active eBay connection at a time. You can connect a second eBay account, but doing so replaces the previous one as the active connection: from then on, publishing and Sold tracking use the newly connected account.
To go back, click Reconnect beside the other account while you are logged in to it on eBay.
Publishing to several eBay accounts at the same time, or tracking sales across several accounts at once, is not currently supported. Each eBay account can also be linked to only one Zetlis account.
Each eBay account can be connected to a single Zetlis account, and that link stays even if the other Zetlis account was later deleted.
If you think this is a mistake — for example an old account of your own — write to [email protected] and tell us the eBay username.
Your eBay account normally stays connected: Zetlis keeps the authorization for you and renews it automatically, including on a new device or after clearing cookies. There is no fixed schedule to keep track of.
Reconnecting is only needed when eBay itself expires or revokes the authorization — for example after changes to your eBay account. Zetlis then shows "Reconnect to eBay"; click it and approve again. You can keep creating and editing listings in the meantime.
Zetlis uses your authorization to create and update your listings, read your business policies, confirm which eBay account is connected, and — for the Sold tab — read your orders.
It does not read your eBay messages, and it never stores buyer details or your payment information. Disconnecting removes the authorization Zetlis stored; you can also revoke it from your eBay account settings.

Promoted Listings lets you pay eBay to show a listing more prominently in eBay search results. It is entirely optional and off by default — nothing is promoted unless you set an ad rate for a listing.
The first time you turn it on, eBay asks for one additional, one-time authorization for advertising, separate from the authorization Zetlis already has.
Advertising fees are charged by eBay, not Zetlis. eBay charges advertising fees on qualifying sales. Zetlis does not charge or collect these fees.

Getting a listing onto eBay, changing it afterwards, and what History keeps.
No. Credits pay for AI analysis only. Publishing, republishing, Update on eBay, Create new eBay listing, Retry, saving changes, editing and downloading ZIPs are all free and never blocked by your credit balance.
After "Published to eBay", the View on eBay button opens your Seller Hub → Active Listings — your account's list, not the single item. Find it there by title, or by the eBay Listing ID or "SKU on eBay" shown on the Published record in History.
If it still does not appear after a while, email [email protected] with the Listing ID.
No. Zetlis creates and updates the listings it published. It cannot end, relist or delete a listing on eBay, and it cannot import listings you created elsewhere — end or delete listings in eBay Seller Hub.
Deleting a listing from Zetlis History never touches eBay.
Before anything is sent, Zetlis checks the listing. If a check fails, nothing is created on eBay and the message names what to fix:
If you cannot get past an error, email [email protected] with the exact message.
When an account had no policies, older versions of Zetlis created them automatically under those names. Today Zetlis only ever creates a basic shipping policy, and only when you have none.
Rename them freely in Seller Hub → Account → Business Policies. Zetlis prefers policies you named yourself and picks them up on the next publish.
Drafts show Publish instead of Update, because no eBay listing exists yet.
Open the Published record in History, make the edit — for photos: tick or untick, drag to reorder, or "Add photos" — click Save changes, then Update on eBay.
Edits made directly on eBay are not read back into Zetlis.
Update is refused — and nothing changes on eBay — when the listing's structure would change (a single listing to variations or back), when the edit would need more than one listing (for example adding a size to a listing published as one listing per size), or when eBay no longer recognizes the listing under its SKU.
The message offers the options that apply: Create new eBay listing, or [email protected].
The SKU is your own inventory code for the item — up to 50 characters: letters, digits, dots, underscores and hyphens. It is optional: leave it blank and Zetlis generates a unique one.
When you publish one listing per size or colour, or a variations listing, the SKU you typed is the base and Zetlis appends the size and colour (for example MYSKU-M-Blue), so every listing or variation gets its own distinct SKU from one field.
A SKU still tied to another live listing is refused before publishing. In Bulk, two products cannot share the same base SKU.
No — once published, the SKU on eBay is fixed for that listing. Editing the SKU field and clicking Update on eBay updates the listing under its existing SKU and ignores the new value. Editing it and clicking Create new eBay listing creates a brand-new listing under the new SKU; the original is untouched.
Changing a SKU directly on eBay for a listing you want to keep updating from Zetlis is not recommended: Update on eBay may then no longer recognize the listing.
eBay Listing ID is eBay's item number for the live listing. SKU on eBay is the exact SKU it is listed under, including any size/colour suffix. Together they are how Update on eBay finds the listing.
The editable SKU field on the same record only matters if you click Create new eBay listing. Drafts show only "SKU", because no eBay listing exists yet.
Under Sizes & Colors, select the sizes and colours you have in stock.
Colours alone cannot form a variations listing. Once published, a listing cannot be switched between the two structures with Update on eBay.
Publishing from the dashboard moves the draft to Published. Publishing from History creates a new Published record and keeps the draft in Drafts, marked with a green "Published" chip, so you can reuse it. The live listing is under Published.
No. "Delete from History" removes the Zetlis record only. The live eBay listing continues unchanged, and any sales already recorded for it stay in the Sold tab (marked "Listing removed"). To end a listing, do it in eBay Seller Hub.
On the Free plan, each listing and its photos are kept for 3 months from the day it was created; editing or publishing does not extend that. On a paid plan, History is kept for as long as your subscription is active, and if you cancel, everything you had stays for 3 more months.
This is about storage only: any listing still in History can be edited and published on any plan. When a listing expires, only the Zetlis record goes — your live eBay listing is untouched and its sales stay in the Sold tab.
Many products at once, and the Chrome extension that gathers the photos.
Put each product's photos in its own sub-folder inside one main folder, then use Upload Folder (desktop or tablet only) and pick the main folder. Each sub-folder becomes one product card; if a folder contains further sub-folders, each innermost folder is its own product. A folder with no sub-folders is treated as a single product.
Up to 50 products per batch. Each product costs one credit, shown up front before you start, and a product whose analysis fails gets its credit back without affecting the others. The AI reads the first 4 photos of each product; all photos are kept.
The folder name is shown for reference and search only. It is never sent to eBay as the SKU or the title.
No. Review and publish each product card individually — that is the moment to check what the AI wrote. "Download All ZIPs" packages every product's photos and listing text in one go.
The Zetlis Photo Collector is a free Chrome extension. On a product page you are viewing, it collects the product photos and saves them to your computer, one folder per product, inside a "Zetlis Photos" folder in your Downloads — exactly the shape Bulk expects.
It needs no Zetlis account, plan or credits.

No. The extension only downloads and organizes photos on your computer; it sends nothing to Zetlis and creates no listings. To create listings, open Zetlis, click Upload Folder and pick the folder the extension made.
How sales of your Zetlis listings show up, and how often.
With your eBay account connected, Zetlis reads your eBay orders once a day and matches each sold item to the Zetlis listing it came from, by SKU or eBay item number. History → Sold shows one entry per sold item, newest first, with the title and price at the time of sale. Cancelled sales are marked, not removed. The first sync covers roughly the last 90 days.
Sold is a record of sales only. It never changes your listing's quantity, never marks anything sold out and never ends a listing. Sales of items you listed outside Zetlis are shown as a count, not as entries.
Sales records cannot be deleted individually. Deleting the listing from History keeps its sales, marked "Listing removed".
Sales are synchronized once a day, so a sale can appear up to about a day after it happened. Zetlis does not show sales in real time.
Only the active connection — the eBay account that most recently completed Connect or Reconnect. Connecting a different eBay account switches Sold tracking (and publishing) to that account from the next daily sync onward; sales on the previous account are no longer collected.
Tracking several eBay accounts at once is not currently supported.
What a credit buys, what each plan includes, and how to cancel or get a refund.
One credit is one AI analysis of one product; in Bulk, one credit per product. If an analysis fails, the credit is returned automatically.
Everything else is free: publishing, republishing, Update on eBay, Create new eBay listing, Retry, saving, editing and downloading ZIPs.
When you run out you will see "Listing quota exceeded" — upgrade your plan, or buy an Extra Pack if you are on a paid plan.
Paid plans renew monthly; there is no annual plan. Prices are the same figure in USD, EUR or GBP depending on your country. Unused monthly analyses do not carry over to the next month.

A one-time purchase of 25 extra analyses for $4.90, available on paid plans. Extra Pack credits never expire, are spent after your monthly allowance, and stay on your account through plan changes and cancellation.
Upgrading takes effect immediately: you pay the new plan's full price now, a new monthly cycle starts today, and your unused monthly credits carry into it.
Downgrading takes effect at your next renewal: you keep your current plan and allowance until then, and you can cancel the scheduled downgrade before it happens.
Plan changes are made inside Zetlis (View plans), never through a second checkout.
Open the account menu and click Manage subscription — this opens the Paddle billing portal, where you can cancel or update your payment method.
Cancellation is scheduled: your plan stays active until the end of the current billing period, then your account returns to the Free plan. Extra Pack credits you bought stay on your account, and your History stays available for 3 more months. Nothing on eBay is affected.
You request a refund yourself on the Refund page. A subscription payment can be refunded within 14 days if you have used only a few of the analyses it paid for (up to 7 on Starter, 10 on Pro or Business), for your most recent payment only, and once per customer. An Extra Pack can be refunded within 14 days if none of its credits were used.
Billing errors and duplicate charges are handled separately — email [email protected].

Every account has a referral link. When someone signs up through it and makes their first paid subscription payment, you both receive bonus credits; the amounts depend on the plan they choose and on yours.
The bonus is granted once, on that first payment — never on renewals or plan changes — and each bonus expires 30 days after it is awarded. Referral credits can be spent on any plan, including Free.

Deactivating pauses your account. Sign in again to reactivate it, and everything is still there. Deactivating does not cancel a paid subscription — cancel it via Manage subscription first if you do not want to be billed again.
Deleting is permanent and immediate: it cancels any active subscription, deletes your listings, photos, sales records and the eBay authorization Zetlis stored, and frees your email address. To confirm, you type the word DELETE.
Deleting your Zetlis account never ends or changes your live eBay listings.
There is no in-app way to change it yet. Email [email protected] from your current address and we will see what is possible.
A one-way hash of your eBay user ID and your eBay username; an encrypted long-lived authorization so Zetlis can publish and sync in the background; and, for the Sold tab, a record of each sale — order and item identifiers, title, quantity, price, status and dates — with no buyer details.
Zetlis never stores buyer names, addresses, emails or payment information. The Privacy Policy lists everything stored and how long each item is kept.
